Abstract:
Neuroglia is a peer-reviewed, open access, online journal that publishes articles pertaining to the nature and function of glial cells in health and disease. Research work on glial cells (including astrocytes, microglia, oligodendrocytes, radial glia, ependymal cells, Schwann cells and satellite cells) involving basic and cutting edge techniques (e.g., bioinformatics, proteomics, epigenetics, genomics, live-cell imaging) will also be considered for publication. Neuroglia aims to publish innovative research on the origin, morphology and functioning of all glial cells. This includes studies on their roles as neuron-supporting cells required for the normal functioning of the nervous system, as well as the link between glial cell dysfunctioning and neurodegenerative diseases and gliomas.
