This documentary covers the life and work of Frei Otto, an architect and engineer who pioneered lightweight and tensile architecture, through interviews with him and other architects and engineers, film clips, photographs, and quotes. The film looks in details at famous structures Otto designed include his entry in Expo 97, the 1972 Munich Stadium, the Mannheim Multihalle, and the Aviary. Otto founded the Institute of Lightweight Structures to test and teach his ideas. In recognition of his life's work, he was named the 2015 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
