Why did we write this book? It is hard for a person to talk about himself, and also a little bit snobbish. But sometimes it is inevitable. The reason I wrote this book was out of necessity. Let me explain why. The international and Turkish public know me by my different titles and features. They know me sometimes as an academic specializing in mining, a "coal" expert or statistics lecturer adn sometimes an enviromental professor. Sometimes they hear my naem from world records, my struggle against enviromental ignorance and smoking or as The Honorary Consul of Benin.On some occasions they see me performing a cameo in a movie, frequently as a guest on television and radio. They have already read my articles or books, especially those about travelling. Besides these, I have a "mission". I have traveled all over the world in the last 40 years. I have been to 240 countries and I have tried my best to represent Türkiye during my visit. This side of me is not very well known. In the countries I visited, I have been on television programs, talked on the radio, given interviews, participated on panels, given conferences and have even been the president's guest. As you will see in this book, I have received congratulations form 30 presidents of diffrent countries. The purpose of this book is to showcase my work abroad, the impact I left, frienships I found away from home, my presence in the world press and my diplomatic mission as a consular of Benin.
