This is a moving tale of the relationship between a young Iranian construction worker, Lateef, and an immigrant laborer, Rahmat, from Afghanistan. A workplace rivalry disappears when Lateef realizes Rahmat is actually Baran, a teenaged girl desperately trying to provide for her needy family. The revelation changes both their lives as they now share a dangerous secret and possible romance, and Lateef discovers within himself more noble and empathic impulses. Throughout the film, Baran never speaks, using only facial expressions to disclose her inner feelings.
