Terrorists seize a major international airport on Christmas Eve to release a drug lord while John McClane's wife circles above in a plane running low on fuel. McClane must battle the terrorists, an incompetent airport police chief, a ferocious winter storm, and the commander of the army's anti-terrorist squad to rescue her.
